Privacy Policy

Last Updated: September 5, 2026

Clerkly ("the App"), developed by Ali Nazzal ("we", "our", or "us"), respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how data is handled when you use the Clerkly mobile application.

1. Data Storage & Syncing

Clerkly is architected with privacy-first principles:

2. In-App Purchases & Billing

All subscription and purchase transactions are processed securely through Apple's App Store in-app purchase system and verified via industry-standard subscription management infrastructure. We do not collect, view, or store your payment card numbers, banking details, or billing addresses.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

We only work with trusted third-party infrastructure and service sub-processors strictly necessary to deliver core application functionality:

4. Analytics & Tracking

Clerkly does not track you across third-party applications or websites, nor do we sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third-party advertisers or data brokers.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Your expense data is retained exclusively on your local device and within your private personal cloud storage container. Deleting the Clerkly application from a device removes the local database copy on that device. Synced records remain in your private cloud storage until you delete them directly within the app or manage them via your device's system cloud storage settings.

6. User Responsibility for Data Backups

Clerkly operates on a local-first and personal cloud architecture. We do not maintain server-side backups of your expense logs or receipts. You are solely responsible for maintaining adequate backups of your device and cloud storage. We are not liable for any lost, corrupted, or unrecoverable data resulting from device loss, app deletion, hardware failure, or cloud sync errors.

7. Accuracy of Processed Data

Automated optical character recognition (OCR) and AI features are provided for convenience only. You acknowledge and agree that automatically extracted receipt data (such as amounts, dates, tax calculations, and merchant names) may contain errors or inaccuracies. You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of all parsed expense data before relying on it for financial, accounting, tax, or legal purposes.

8. Children's Privacy

Clerkly does not knowingly collect or solicit personal data from anyone under the age of 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.

10. Accessibility Statement

We are committed to digital accessibility and ensuring our software and web content conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility standards. If you encounter any accessibility barriers while using Clerkly or our web services, please email us at snicks.legate-7y@icloud.com and we will actively work to resolve the issue.
